Day 3, 4, and 5

Day #5?! Seriously where has this week gone??

Day 3 was Monday. I started training at my new job and the shots were uneventful. Day 4 was LONG. I even had to visit hubby at work to do the PM shot because I had to turn around and go back to work til 8pm for a meeting.

Day 5 started early because I had a 7am appointment at the RE's office. I had my blood work and ultra sound.

I have 9 follies so far. 9-6mm in size. The nurse told me before checking me that they should be 10 or less. So I am hoping that this is a good thing.

I checked my instructions at 3pm like I normally do and the nurse said I have to come back tomorrow. So before work, again, I have to do the blood work and ultrasound. This kinda worries me and hubby.

How much is suppose to change between now and then?

It's hard not to know what they are thinking. Depending on how I feel tomorrow, I will probably ask why the quick monitoring....

Then I won't know until after 3pm tomorrow what is next.

I think that's probably the hardest part...You try so hard to revolve your schedule around this but you really can't because it keeps changing and you don't know the true timeline. All you have is a window of time...

On a different note, I think hubby is enjoying poking me with a needle. lol No, not really but he's been a good sport for the most part. The last few times have bruised or bled which worries him a tad but I tell him it's fine. I am pretty sure I'm not the only one that has had that happen.

He might be going out of town at the end of this month though. He got a great opportunity but not all the details are done yet. As long as he's there for his part on day of retrieval, he can go. :)

So how much longer for shots?
How many more monitoring appointments?
Will these follies keep growing?
Will they fertilize?
Will they survive the fertilization phase so they can be transferred?

Lots of things going on in my mind but I guess being so busy this week is a good distraction.

Well, I am going to head off so I can print some coupons. :) That darn show, Extreme Couponing, is getting me hooked!

Take care all and good luck to you all!

Anyone else on a May IVF cycle?

  1. Hello! I'm on a May cycle. I just had my Egg Retrieval today. For my cycle, they started seeing me every day after the 5th day, so it sounds like you are right on track. They just want to make sure that you are not over-stimulating, that's all. They like to keep a close eye on your follicles in case they need to adjust your medications.

This is my 2nd IVF, so ask me anything! My blog is http://blog.christine.fm/
